We had a bit of a feast on Sunday night to end off a successful yet indulgent weekend (there was a lot of chocolate, wine and other tasty treats enjoyed throughout the weekend).
We started things off with a multi grain sourdough bread with decadent butter.
The BF had a fried chicken craving so he slaved away perfectly breading these bone-in with skin chicken thighs (there's the indulgent part, we never have chicken skin, boy was it tasty!). He cooked the thighs to crispy perfection on the BBQ.
I made a red cabbage and carrot slaw with an asian dressing to go along side.
Dressing: 2 tbsp rice wine vinaiger, 1 tbsp olive oil, dash of sesame seed oil, salt/pepper to taste, 1 1/2 tbsp honey, 1 tbsp dijon mustard, sprinkling of sesame seeds
YUM!It's nice to enjoy some decadence every now and again!

Yum! I've only made fried chicken once, and it seemed to take for-ev-er. My husband claimed that it was the best fried chicken he'd ever had, but by the time I was done preparing it, it didn't even taste that great to me. I guess food just tastes better to me when someone else makes it :)
ReplyDeleteThat bread looks decadent!
ReplyDeleteThat slaw looks fantastic! I pinned it to my recipe board to try soon.
